Remember the time you caught a cold, or when you felt like you’re going to catch one, and your family and friends suggested you take some vitamin C supplements?
Trials done on adults and children showed that participants taking more than 0.2g/day of vitamin C daily did not prevent a cold from occurring, but had reduced the duration and severity of the cold especially in children. Oddly enough, Vitamin C has effects on short-term exposure to physical stress, but not on long-term physical stress.
We’ll talk about how much vit C supplements can be taken in the next post!
